Mughal Delights | India Palace, Dubai Festival City
Speak about grandeur and luxury, the Mughal dynasty of India brought to the country, I was carried away into the golden memories of Mughal Ideology and Flamboyant Princely Culture when I stepped into this beautifully designed and set, and most importantly a must-visit restaurant. From what little was left behind from the great Mughal Dynasty, bits and pieces were picked up by great artist, craftsmen, musicians and chefs to recreate the magic of Mughal ideology in this era…from the golden past. The India palace successfully recreated the same resplendent elegance and grandeur of the Mughal Dynasty in its finest form through its elaborate pictorial presentation and painstakingly hand done wood work executed by skilled artisans, not to mention the lingering aroma of deliciously prepared fine and exotic Mughal Cuisine at its best, formulated by guarded secret recipes handed down from the great Mughal kitchens of the Golden Era. The cuisine seemed to have been inspired by the essence of Indian North West frontier traditions. The food is cooked in a unique way using clay ovens (tandoors). This style of cooking requires great expertise on the part of the chefs, since the meat is not accompanied by any sauce or gravy, but is pre-marinated and cooked before serving. It takes a chef years of meticulous training and dedication to master the technique of the art of making the breads, the succulent kebabs and delicious curries. Each dish cooked in the kitchens of India Palace, captures the essence of the original recipe. As served in royal courts and on the battlefield of history, the menu at India Palace is a coming together of ancient culinary secrets, long forgotten herbs and exotic flavors to pamper the palate. The service at the restaurant makes you feel like royalty and is definitely one to experience and be part of.
