A Modern Urban Escape | Alila Bangsar Kuala Lumpur
For those of you who following my blog, you know how strongly I feel about Alila hotels. I love the brand. The concept is almost always highly rejuvenating no matter where it is located. When I heard about the fact that there was a newly opened property in Kuala Lumpur, I had to make sure we book atleast a night there. And, we did! Unlike other hotels, Alila in Kuala Lumpur is located on top of a residential tower. We did have to round a bit to get to the hotel as we used Waze to navigate ourselves and we did end up going around a bit.
We finally arrived to the hotel and seeing it we didn’t regret our decision at all. However, service wise things could be a little better I felt. Or maybe because I had too much expectation from an Alila Hotel and felt some things were not on par to the normal brand experience I have had. But, then again it was a newly opened property, and I believe the staff were just settling in. You see I love the brand which is why I am pretty sure I would give it a second chance.
The thing that I really liked the most was the idea of a lounge on each floor. Local snacks were placed there every morning. Instead of coffee machines and kettles being placed in the room, this was where you had to get them from. There were also some magazines to read, some beautiful coffee table books to flip through, and games to play too. What an awesome idea! It was like a socializing lounge for people who were on the same floor.
The rooms are more spacious compared to other hotels. Since, all the rooms are located up high, the view will always be priceless. Kuala Lumpur has such beautiful skies, sunrises, sunsets. The city view at night is priceless, and so is it during the day. It’s so hard to choose which one’s better you see. Protecting the environment is something they have tried to practise everywhere within the property. Water is kept in the room in
I really loved the breakfast concept at Entier. They have a small buffet of breads, fresh fruits, cold cuts, and a freshly made hot menu to choose from with 5 cuisine choices - International (the usual eggs, beef bacon, chicken sausage, and more), Oriental (chicken congee, pan-fried dumplings and fried carrot cake), Malay (the nasi lemak one), Indian (roti canai with chicken curry, vadeh and more) and Vegetarian (steamed mix vegetables, baked beans, vegetarian dhal and more). I absolutely loved the presentation, the whole experience and the seating - an absolute winner!
What do I think of the place? If you're a tourist who prefers a relaxing stay in KL, transportation options are great. Also, it's great that they're donating RM2 per night booked to the Malaysian Association for the Blind. Some people find its location extremely convenient, seeing that there's a bridge connecting it to the Bangsar LRT station. No regrets staying at this Alila!
